c&a mother’s day campaign

For Mother’s Day, C&A commissioned me to create a custom illustration centered around themes of strong women, motherhood, sisterhood, and the beauty of growth and blooming. The final artwork was featured on a special seed card that was handed out in stores across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

The project began with the development of three different concepts, each exploring the theme through its own visual composition and storytelling approach. Alongside the briefing, the client shared a preview of their upcoming clothing collection and asked if selected pieces could subtly be incorporated into the illustration. This added an extra layer to the creative process, allowing the artwork to feel closely connected to the campaign and collection itself.

test, test

After reviewing the concepts, the client was particularly drawn to the first direction, which we then refined further into the final piece.

Since the illustration would be printed on seed paper rather than standard stock, the production process required additional testing and close collaboration with the printing company. Together, we explored multiple print variations to ensure the colours, details, and overall feel translated beautifully onto the textured biodegradable material.

This project was such a joy to work on from beginning to end. I loved translating such meaningful themes into a tactile piece that people could not only take home, but also plant and watch grow over time. Seeing the illustration come to life in stores across multiple countries made the entire experience feel incredibly special!
