almanach exquis
I was invited to take part in Thirty Dirty Fingers’ Almanach Exquis, a collaborative illustration project built on the idea of continuous drawing. Each participant responds directly to the previous artwork, gradually building one evolving, collective piece without knowing where it will end up.
What I loved most about this concept is the balance between structure and surprise - you’re both reacting and contributing at the same time. It creates a visual conversation between artists, where styles, ideas, and interpretations naturally overlap and transform each other.
a love letter to thrifting
For my contribution, I wanted to create something personal within this shared framework. The illustration became an ode to secondhand shopping and thrifting - a visual celebration of finding beauty in pre-loved objects. I included a selection of my own favourite vintage and thrifted finds, weaving them into the composition as small personal anchors within the larger collective narrative.
Being part of this project felt like stepping into a living, unfolding sketchbook; one shaped by many hands, yet still leaving space for individual expression. It was a playful, inspiring process that reminded me how powerful collaboration can be when you let go of control and respond intuitively to what’s already there.
